Impact of Dispassion during Meditation on Social media

In our fast paced life, we get caught up by technology like social media. Our mind is thinking about emails, chat sessions, facebook updates etc.  We are so much used to these online services that anytime we want to focus, the social media becomes a higher priority. As a result, anything we do requires an extra effort due to the social media thoughts coming in between our goals. Being caught in between this confusion, the question comes to us. How to avoid distraction and stay focused?

During my meditation courses taught by Art of Living foundation (started by H H Sri Sri Ravi Shankar), I learnt to practice dispassion for everything during meditation. By having dispassion, we tend to drop all our thoughts and stay centered towards our meditation goal. In other words, dispassion induces discipline in our meditation and improves our focus. We are no longer haunted by social media sites like facebook likes/dislikes, and come in the present moment with full attention. This applied to our daily activities improves our ability to get over any social media distractions and be more productive and efficient.
